Come to the Rescue Association
Come To The Rescue Association Inc. is a non-profit organization founded in 2003. It is fully registered with United States Federal government under article 501c (3), to take care of educational needs of children whose parents have died of HIV/AIDS in central Uganda, East Africa. The orphans under our care are from poor backgrounds who want to have a formal education.
In the past seven years, this organization has endeavored to advance the plight of more than thirty orphans. One of COTREAS’ successes is the recent graduation of one of the original children, Bridget. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Makerere University. At present she is employed by the ministry of Energy in Uganda as an engineer.
Another girl, Mary, has completed her course work at a University level. She is due to graduate this year with a Bachelor of Science in Statistics from Makerere University. Presently she is undergoing her apprenticeship at the Central Bank of Uganda in the Statistics Department.
Other children have managed to graduate from high school before the credit – crunch, and have moved on with their lives to train in different trades. We still have three of the original thirty yet to graduate from high school
