Come to the Rescue Association

After the credit – crunch, Come To The Rescue Association has faced monetary challenges. The economic hardships of our donors made it impossible to continue with the program of soliciting school tuition. The committee in Uganda and I embarked on a rethinking of the mission of our organization.

Soul searching and meetings led us to the idea of COTREAS having a grade school from grade one to seven. The school setting will be a mixture of boys and girls as well as a boarding school. In this way, we shall be cultivating family settings for the orphans. Land is already ours at Buyaya in the Mpigi district in central Uganda, thanks to a generous contribution from one of our donors.

The month of May 2011 opened a new chapter for the organization. I travelled to Uganda and met with the committee in charge running the day-to-day affairs of COTREAS. We agreed to find ways of implementing the idea of constructing a school in central Uganda.
